Fire at Seasons Lodge.....

At 3:00 am this morning a fire started at "The Seasons Lodge." The reason this is so BIG to me (Annie) is because this is where my parents work and where I grew up as a kid. The Seasons is a hotel, restaurant and conference center in Brown County, Indiana, where I grew up. (Bloomington, where we live now is just 20 mins away) My dad is the current chef (free food!) and my mom works the front desk. I also worked there as a teen, all my siblings have worked there and my aunt currently works there too! (it pretty much is a family affair) My parents have worked there for over 20 years. They actually met and fell in love there!! My little sister and I grew up there playing hide and seek, standing on milk crates to help my dad in the kitchen, swimming in the pool, eating good food.....it was a second home to us! My wedding reception was there and basically just tons of memories were made there over my 26 years of life!

Praise God it did not destroy the whole hotel and amazingly the lobby and main kitchen were left untouched by the fire!! Praise God even more that it was a slow night (only 18 people were staying in the hotel) because just one day before the Seasons had all 80 rooms booked!! Everyone made it out safely and just in time because of the night desk clerk!! He is young guy who had the composure to get all of the people out by going room to room!! It was one of the big news stories of the day! Here are some links: http://www.wishtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=5879307 and http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=5879259

Here are some pictures that my dad took when he arrived on the scene at about 3:45am.

The fire at about 3:45 am this morning taken from across the street.
My dad could even feel the heat!
The aftermath of the fire! Praise God no one was hurt!!

Yikes!!! How sad! Will they have to close for very long - they have such good food! Glad no one was hurt...

Wow! Look at that. It is amazing how God protects us. I am glad that your family is ok.

Hey Annie -
I am so glad that everyone was ok and that your dad's kitchen is still in tact! I'll try and give you a call today. Hope you'll be around.

What a bummer. My mouth dropped as I was reading that. Dropped even more when I seen the pictures. I feel so bad for your parents. I do remember your wedding reception being there. We even stayed there at the hotel. It was a beautiful hotel. Hope they will be able to get it back up and running!! Just remember all the good memories you had there.
